On Monday, I grounded myself. Grounded myself from anything sewing related.

The kitchen table is no place for threads, needles, and loads of scraps. I wasn’t allowed to even think sewing until I got this mess cleaned up. The disorganization was causing my efficiency to crumble.

It would be wrong to let a perfectly good sewing room go to waste. Okay, I’m not being completely honest with you. The truth of the matter is that a repair man was coming to fix our dryer. So, basically, I had to clean up. And, boy am I glad I did.

I sorted buttons and snaps and put them into these baby food containers. Easily stackable and see through. Although, I must admit, I was tempted to get the mod podge out and cover them with cute scrapbook paper. But then, I wouldn’t be able to see through them, now would I? So, I refrained, and am opting to cover a coffee can, that I use as a trash can for all those little scraps and itsy bitsy pieces of thread that are clipped here and there.

The rail that you see above works wonders in here. Perfect for scissors and such. I bought three baskets that hang from it as well. The best $10 I have ever spent, courtesy Ikea.

I organized some of my newly purchased fabric that makes my heart pitter patter every time I catch a glimpse.

My mother-in-law gifted me with this  little plaque. I kind gesture signifying the fact that she recognizes my new sewing obsession and my love for God. Besides a cork board and dry erase board, the walls are pretty bare in here. I intend to frame some of my pencil drawings from years ago. At that time in my life, I would sit on my platform bed in my Parisian inspired room and draw away. Now, if only I had the time.
