Marty and I have set this crazy goal to run a 5k in less than 3 weeks. We officially started training yesterday. Last night we were both sweaty and tired, but I felt good. I’m not sure about Marty. Maybe he was secretly cursing me for coming up with this idea. Nah, I don’t think so.
This morning we both got up at 5:30 and exercised together. I guess not exactly together. He was on the elliptical, and I was doing Pilate’s in the living room. But still, we were there to support each other. It’s always easier to do something when somebody else is there suffering with you. As in suffering, I mean getting up at 5:30. Yes, I am that lazy.
I’m excited to see what kind of shape we can get in during the next couple of weeks, and how long I will be able to run before I pass out or throw up all over my tennis shoes.
So, what’s up with the picture at the top you may be asking. No, it’s not me. But, guess what, Roxy now has an athletic collection. I am a big Roxy fan. I love the surfer girl quality of the clothing. The clothes are so cute and wearable. Here are some items I wouldn’t mind wearing for my little torture run.

Practice Makes Perfect Hoody Shell $56.00

Athletix Rox Fitted Capris $46.00
Powder Puff Soccer Shorts $34.00
Check out the whole collection here.
I will most definitely keep you updated on our fitness status. See if you can set a goal with your husband like we have. You’ll have fun working your way through it together, and for us, we will also lose weight and physically feel better.
Here’s a little spiritual encouragement that seemed fitting to me.
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.” I Corinthians 9:24-27
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14
