On Christmas, one of my most favorite cousins asked me to sew her a new apron. I jumped at the chance.

Last night, I handed it over to her. It was hard, because secretly I wanted to keep it for myself. Maybe an apron such as this, would inspire me to cook more often.

I detached my head, because quite frankly, when I set the timer and take pictures of myself, my facial expression always looks so awkward.

pocket Fabric: Hobby Lobby     Pattern: Simplicity 2555

I am planning to make a curtain for my kitchen out of this pocket fabric. I need to hit up one more fabric store before I can make my final decision.

One more final thought for this a.m. My devotions led me on over to Habakkuk 3:17-18 this morning. Honestly, I had to look in the front of my Bible to see where Habakkuk was. I don’t frequent that book too often.

The verses read as follows:

17  Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls,

18  YET I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

In a time like this, with the economy, Haiti, and all of the other troubles and sorrows in the world, this was a good reminder for me. You don’t only rejoice in the Lord when your bank account is full, and your house is paid off. Or when your kids are perfect little angels and your marriage is flawless. You rejoice in all things, good or bad.

Please continue to remember my friend in prayer. Have not heard how she is doing after the earthquake this morning. Praying they are okay.
