On Sunday, we watched as a little bird began a nest in our hydrangea tree. I’ve never really seen a bird, start to finish, build a nest. It was sad at moments, as she flew with a little twig, laid it carefully in the crook of the tree, and then it fell to the ground. Talk about frustrating. Later, a robin flew to the nest and was messing with it. We jumped up and scared that mean ole robin away. After much hard work, and I am sure long hours, this perfectly formed nest sat in our tree. I swear it was like this the next morning.

And, now, this morning, surprise!!, a little egg resides in our ornamental tree.

nestIt is such an amazing process, and such hard work. I mean, I don’t really know, but it sure looks like it. It had me thinking about our “nesting” process. This usually involves cleaning and organizing. Making a safe space for our little one is way more pleasing than weaving some twigs together. Aren’t you glad? Here are some “nests” that a few mommies made for their “birdies.”

Hope you enjoyed these lovely spaces. And, for all of you curious minds, no, this was not some way to announce that I am pregnant or anything. Just a post about a sweet mommy bird who stole my heart.
