You know those projects I keep mentioning, but never show you? Well, here’s one. I finally made my room presentable enough to take a couple of pictures.

room

My pride almost kept me from posting this, because I feel like our room is still not very cohesive, but I swallowed that ole’ pride of mine, and hit publish with only a small wince. Featured are my $9 nightstands that are a little shaky, but serve their purpose at the moment. A couple of days ago, I had a cute piece of pottery on my nightstand. As I threw open the curtain in the a.m., I knocked it off and it crashed all over the floor. Needless to say, the boys were a bit startled.

We have yet to buy a headboard, let only a bed frame. In fact, our box spring is still in the plastic, because I’m not about to ruin something so new by having it sit on my floor that dances with dust bunnies on a regular occassion. I have my eye on this bed from Ikea.

Fairly inexpensive, simple, and low to the ground. I can see us hauling this guy back on our next trip up to the big city. Which I’m thinking should be put on the calendar soon. It’s been too long.

So, really the point of this whole post is the art that I created behind my bed.

canvas

I’m not big on spending money on wall hangings. And, really, art is so stinkin’ expensive, and I have trouble biting the bullet. The how-to of this project is simple. Take a couple of canvas’s, cover with mod podge, and then adhere scrapbook paper. Up close you can see the seams and bubbles, but it’s not very noticeable at bed’s length because of the pattern of the paper.

While I’m at it, and as my post continues to drag on, here are a couple of shots of my bathroom.

Many people that enter my home, ask me if I like my sinks. I love them, but will admit that toothpaste is their worst enemy.

shower

A shower large enough for  a whole football team. Not really necessary, but nonetheless spa-like.

I did forget to capture my absolute favorite part of our master suite. It’s the double frosted glass doors that lead into our bathroom. You can see one of them peaking out in the top photo.

I will stop my babbling so you can get on with your day. Have a splendid one!
