How many of you get the Home Decorators Collection magazines in the mail? We ordered our bathroom vanity from there, so each month one of these babies floats into my mail box. I feel like it is pretty much the same items each month, and really the styling and items are not my cup of tea. But, the latest issue had me staying focused a bit longer.

Here’s what I found:

I know we’re all crushing on Subway art these days. I may be the only one out there that hasn’t made my own yet. Here’s a nice big one already made up for ya. There is also an L.A. option.

Speaking of rugs, how about a little houndstooth to ground your space? Yes, please.

Okay, and I am totally a sucker for a funky chair. When I needed one a couple of years ago, I couldn’t find one and now they’re everywhere. You live and you learn and then you wait patiently instead of buying impulsively.

There is even a French Market inspired collection.

Only $39 with free shipping. Not too shabby.

And, I’ve decided that if I could have all powder blue office furniture, maybe, just maybe, I’d be excited to pay the bills and then file them away into their powder blue filing cabinet.

I was about to cancel my subscription of this magazine, but with the onset of these few things, I may just stick it out for awhile.

First, here’s my big comfy chair where I end up on most occasions.

This chair has  a great little story that I’ll have to share some other time. Let’s just say that the hubs got some major points on this one.

I usually prop my feet up on our coffee table.

I also do some blogging at our kitchen table.

This is usually where I end up when my battery’s low, and I need a nearby outlet.

I can’t wait to visit the links and see where you all blog. Don’t you just love getting to peek into everyone’s homes? Or is it just me? Am I the only one that almost gets into accidents while trying to get a looksy of someone’s home in the evening when the lights are on? Not because I want to see the people, but I want to see how cool the house is. Is that a crime?

I became a Sunday School teacher this weekend. I know, as if I’m actually qualified for something like that. Luckily, it’s only 3 & 4 year olds. I think I can handle that.

After church, the worship team visited a lady from our church who is very ill. We worshiped with her, and I felt my throat tighten up in order to hold back tears. Our plans are not His…Our plans are not His. This is something that has been continually floating through my mind, day in and day out. His plan is beyond anything I can ever imagine. So, why’s it so hard to let Him lead?

In the meantime, the onset of September means the busyness begins. Soccer starts for Jaxon tonight, school starts next week, a new Bible study, possible 5k, sewing, craft shows, MOPS, garage sale this Saturday {doubtful}… How do you all balance life? Or is there not really an answer, and we’re all in this struggle together?

I did get my owls complete and finished a bag today. I’d say it has been a fairly productive day. When am I going to realize that I need to stay up late in order to get everything done? Hopefully not the night before the craft festival!

Oh and I’m writing this from my phone, so sorry if this turns out funky! Just giving it a try, ya know, so I can be more efficient.

I still have loads of eye balls to sew on. I enjoy sewing assembly line style, but sometimes it’s a bit wearing, especially in this case.

I’m sure my dreams will include lots of little owls tonight, hopefully in a friendly non pecking sorta way.

I had mentioned wanting a suitcase for my craft show booth. She came across this one, with me in mind, and couldn’t pass it up. Sweet, huh? But, what she did on the inside really made me squeal with delight.

She layered the inside with some fabric she had laying around.

And made this adorable banner. She knows my love for banners, so this will be the perfect addition to my booth.

I’m excited about putting my booth together. But, I guess I need some merchandise to fill it with, so I need to get crackin’. With that said, I’m outta here.

Anyway, I was going to show you something totally cute today, but my computer is out of disk space or something, so I can’t download my pictures. Ugghhh… So, I thought I would just show you some lovely spaces from Coastal Living.

These pictures make me think of summer and its warm breeze. Summer is slowly making its way out of here, and I hate to say it, but it’s been just a bit too hot for me these days. Maybe I’m not a Florida gal after all. I’m ready for crunchy leaves and soft cardis. Anyone else with me?

Today I’m going to show you the last pictures of the house, because I am leaving for the weekend in about an hour. Boy, am I sure going to miss my boys!! I’m headed to a Women of Faith conference, so I’m excited to see what God’s going to teach me.  Anyway, on to the house.

Here are just a couple pictures of Jaxon’s nursery.

I’m definitely not into themes, so I just went with some pastels. I think a part of me still thought it should not really be too gender specific, just in case.

Our house was only a story and a half, so Jaxon’s room was designated to the landing. Not much room to work with.

Okay, I’m getting butterflies in my stomach over leaving my boys for 3 days. I better get hugs and kisses in while I still have time.

Today, I will show you our bedroom.

With all the bold colors downstairs, this was a nice change for the upstairs.

This house was very short on closet space, so we had to create our own closet.

It’s fun to think outside the box, and do what you can with a space. I suppose that is why I love me an older home.

I’ve got a fussy boy on my hands who is in need of a major nap. Until tomorrow…

In this house, you walked directly into the dining room. Not one of my favorite features of older homes. I rearranged this room many times. It looks like I ended our journey there with the table shoved into the corner. If you have a house like this, how do you combat this issue? I would love to know, because my friend is currently dealing with this in her new home.

See that big piece of cardboard in the background? I’m not sure where we got it, but we made a fort for our little guy with it.
