I believe the last time I posted, it was still summer. And, looky here, it’s now fall.  Such is life.

I had been sewing like a mad woman for an upcoming show.

Well, the show has come and gone, and I now have lots of inventory.

Sidenote: I really need to find a better way to display my bags. It all looks a bit messy. Maybe I’ll just say I’m going for the shabby chic effect, but have yet to achieve the “chic.”

I have lots of infinity scarves for $10 each.  I also have a mouse in my house that keeps eating all of the peanut butter without getting caught. But that is totally besides the point.

All this to say, you might want to stop by my shop, because I will be loading it up with lots of pretty ruffly and posy filled items that you may not want to miss.

We had only lived here almost three years, and I just couldn’t find any curtains that I was happy with. Poor boy with no curtains or blinds for that long. Well, he survived.

The shower curtain originally hung with the stripes vertically, but I wanted the stripes to transition smoothly with the stripe that was already on the wall, so I just flipped this baby sideways.

I like how these curtains introduce some other colors into the room.

The bookcase is orange

(which you can barely see)

and the surfboard is green.

I feel the curtains pulled all these fun elements together.

I didn’t want a rod pocket or tabs at the top. I feel a pleated look is a bit more refined looking, so I sloppily cut out some little rectangles and sewed them on the back side every couple of inches or so.

Now the  length was obviously too short, so I just added some drop cloth that I already had, and I actually prefer this look over stripes for the whole length.

These curtains cost me ZERO dollas!

Oh, and these two monkeys are now sharing a room.

Carter’s having a hard time sleeping in a “big boy” bed, but I know he’ll get there. I hope.

Anyway, do you ever go to Target and see all those cute shower curtains and wish they weren’t shower curtains, but something you could use elsewhere in your house? Well, now you know how to transform them into curtains for your dining room or living room. If you can get two panels out of one shower curtain, this really is a very affordable option compared to those one panel for $29.99 deals. Yikes, I can’t seem to stomach $60.00 for a vinyl window.

It feels good to be back, at least for two days in a row. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.

Yeah, well, I’ve been a little absent around these parts, but I’ve been toying with the idea of getting back into it. So, here goes nothing.

I’m sure you’re all just obsessed with Pinterest as I am.

I’ve been seeing lots of amazing things done with pallets these days. Have you seen all the creative awesomeness??

I know I’ve seen pallets for free on Craigslist recently. I should look into that.

I love how pallet tables can double as storage for your books or magazines.

I haven’t seen a lot of painted pallets, but these sure are fun for a rec room.

(and I’m a sucker for the geometric fabric)

I saw these and thought, how simple. You could totally purchase a couple of those large dog beds at TJ Maxx. They actually have ones that are quite lovely. This would make for an easy peasy couch.

This island is amazing. Love the dark paint.

And, now to take pallets outside…

I would like to try this… next year.

The dark stain really gives it a nice finish.

And, we all know how expensive that couch-like patio furniture can be. This is a great alternative.

I realize that I need to get this planted before I kill it.

And, I’m plum out of dishcloths, because I have a load of towels that I’ve been putting off folding.

And, let me just be brutelly honest, this is what a corner of Jaxon’s room looks like.

I need to box up the clothes that don’t fit him, and that’s really not one of my favorite things to do. But, it’s on “my list” today. Oh, but it’s been on my list every day the past couple of weeks. And if anyone would happen to want to see our house, which nobody has so far, I would go into panic mode regarding this boy’s room. So, it’s happening today. And, once it’s all cleaned up, I’ll show you the curtains that I made out of our old shower curtain.

Really, my point to all of this is that I don’t have it all together, and I’m so thankful that my family and my God, don’t require perfection from me.

It’s tiring being a mom, wife, and housekeeper. And, sometimes, we just need to extend a little more grace to ourselves. Because, really, it’s okay there are toys strewn throughout your house. It’s the season you’re in, and aren’t those little tots that make that big mess, such a beautiful little miracle?

And for those of you who just feel overwhelmed by life, here’s a little something to ease your mind.

I was going to have the kids help, but I assumed that would create complete chaos and probably a few hot glue gun burns.

So, they made cards with scraps of fabric glued on them in the shape of the letter “M”, for mom.

I made this mix, and pinned the flower onto the bag. I love this stuff!

So, I have this problem where I buy Vanilla Wafers, because I think they’re a good lowfat snack, or rather less desirable snack, and then I eat the whole box. So, I guess that’s not really working for me.

Yowza’s it’s hot out there today! Enjoy!

We enjoyed time outside together as a family, and that’s really the best gift I could ever receive.

I was even the only one to catch a fish that night, so that  pretty much made me  the “best mom of the year.”

My trees just started blooming, so I had to snap a few shots.

Right now I’m finding blessings in so many small things. It’s so important to focus on what I have and not on what I don’t have. I’m truly blessed!

And, although we put our house up on the exact same day as Kasey, we will not be moving with them to Hawaii.

Oh bummer… but we will be moving where we feel God is leading us, and that’s truly exciting!

Don’t worry, it’s only a mere 10 minutes or so from where we live now.

But, we just want to be that close, because we feel so passionately about it.

What is it you say? Well, it’s our church and our church family.

We love our home, and we’ll probably even miss our home, since we built it with our own two hands.

But, this is only a temporary home, and I want to be where God wants us to be more than anything.

Because, someday, I’ll be in my permanent home, and I want Him to be pleased with how I used my time on this earth.

We sure did!

I am so thankful and overwhelmed by what Jesus did for us.

It’s the reason we live.

I hope to reflect on this all year instead of just Easter. Why’s it so easy to forget about His amazing love for us during the rest of the year?

I’m sure He would just be over joyed if we would praise Him on random days, just like we do on Easter.

I’m up for the challenge, are you?

Nothing like some daffodils to brighten your day, especially when you know someone was thinking about you while they were running errands.

I was even more overjoyed to see that I could pull the ugly plastic off the pot, and they fit almost perfectly in my lovely clay pot.

I love the wayward fella down there at the bottom who seems to be straining his neck to see my vintage scale. We must share the same taste in accessories.

It just keeps getting better.
