Curb Appeal chose me! Really!! No, not really, but wouldn’t that be cool? All summer long I have been meaning to work on my front porch. I finally got to work on it yesterday.

chairs

I started off by refreshing my wicker chairs. They once were green, and now they’re sitting pretty in a shade of almond.

I whipped up some pillows with outdoor fabric from Joann’s. Of course, bought at half price. I can’t stomach $17.99/yd. The kids would have to forfeit fruit snacks and cookies for a whole week if I were to make those kind of purchases. Don’t look at me like your kids eat healthy. Oh they do?!?! Ummm…yeah…we do too.

I chose to go with red because of this amazing vintage glider that my mother-in-law picked up at a garage sale for $5. Five Dollars!! As in 20 quarters! Can you believe it?!?! Remember when I was crushing on that other glider? Boy am I glad it was gone when I went back to get it.

I’m glad to finally have my porch spruced up a bit. I have two more pillows to sew and a possible outdoor rug in my sights. Then, I will be happy to show you a wider view of this little space that I hope to utilize more, now that it’s an extension of our home.

I’m off to go eat bon bons and drink a latte on my pretty porch. Not really, but that would sure be fun.
