Have you ever tried to type a whole post while holding a heating pad to your shoulder? Well, that is me this morning. I’m not even kidding. I have declared today, ”Burn Your Snugli Day.” What I thought was a little pain, has turned into severe, can’t move my head pain. It reminds me of the kind of pain I had after having my c-section. That pain where you don’t want to move a certain way, because you know how bad it is going to hurt. Then, when you do accidentally move that way, you feel like you’re paralyzed and can’t return to the “comfortable” position. Basically, the only way I can lift my head is if I press my fingers into the sore spot. There must be a little trigger in there that releases my head to look up. It’s ridiculous! My head is tilted off to the side, and I look like I have some serious issues. I keep trying to lift my head to a normal position, but it just won’t go. I hope this isn’t permanent. If it is, I am so suing Snugli, or at least driving to their corporate headquarters and egging them.
I’m kind of curious how I am going to take care of my kids today. When Carter wants to be held, he likes me to bounce him a certain way. Not so sure that I will be able to do this today. Or, I may stand in the shower all day and let the hot water beat down on my shoulders. I’m sure my kids won’t mind eating lunch in the shower or taking their naps in there. It’ll just be like a day at the water park.
Pray for me today or better yet, let’s just start a Baby Hawk fund. I would appreciate your donations. Okay, I am totally kidding. I showed the Baby Hawk site to my husband last night hoping to hear words of approval. Usually he will say, “Babe, if you really want it, just get it.” I also told him how I want Slim in 6. But, no such response to that as well. I’m thinking he either doesn’t want me to spend money or he doesn’t really care what a mei tai is. I would actually assume the latter of the two.

Hi, I randomly found your post and hope you don’t mind a tip.
If you want something comfortable and cheap, mostly for around the house, I highly recommend a no-sew stretchy wrap. You just need 5 yards of t-shirt material; most people can find some on the cheap at a sale table. Here is a link that tells you how: http://www.wearyourbaby.com/Default.aspx?tabid=121 (That’s not my site, by the way.) Then, you c an either follow the Moby Wrap instructions (http://www.mobywrap.com/t-instructions.aspx) or you can wrap it like a woven wrap (scroll down to the video here: http://magiccityslingers.wordpress.com/why-babywear/babywearing-basics/).
I will be glad to torch a Snugli with you, or a Baby Bjorn. I find them to be back killers too! BabyHawk mei tais are lovely. My personal preferences lie elsewhere because my BabyHawk also killed my back, but that was in a back carry, and some people find them to be the bees knees!
