Ah sweet 2009, where have you gone? Thinking back on the year has me counting my blessings. One of the greatest blessings is by far the newest addition to our household. Big brown eyes. Thick dark hair. Best smile ever.

I know, I know, you are here to see gift #4. I just needed to take a moment to reflect.

Now, introducing

Gift #4: Knitting Bag

My sister-in-law is really into knitting, so I found this to be an appropriate bag to create for her. A compartment for every tool needed and plenty of space inside for yarn and projects to be completed.

Tempted to take up knitting just so I have a reason to make one of these for myself. Maybe in 2011. Sewing is keeping me busy enough, and I am loving every moment I have to conjure up something new or make a run to the fabric store. Did I mention my hubby got me a new machine for Christmas?

This coming year, I encourage you to find something you are interested in and give it a shot. Three months ago, I would not have believed that I could sew a straight line on a piece of fabric, let alone make a bag. I feel happy and content having a special hobby that I love to do aside from being a mom.

Tonight, we are having a little shindig at our house with some of our lovely friends. It should will be a good time. I wish you all happiness and safety as you ring in the new year.

Check back in tomorrow for gift #5. This one is the most delightful of all.
